Economic crimes – the entity and types

Abstract

The study of economic crime has had an uneven history. Over the last few centuries, writers have offered a variety of definitions of economic offenses and theories that use an economic approach to crime. Throughout this period, interest in economic crime and the economic approach to offending has ebbed and flowed. In this article the author presents the evolution of the phenomenon and reorganizes existing theories. She explains the essence of today’s economic crimes and also describes types of offenders.
