Dear Readers,
We give to your hands the first issue of the journal of the Institute of National Security of the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk "The study of Security" (SnB) devoted to various security problems.
We invite all those conducting security research and dealing with security issues, from the side of theory or practice, to publish. Articles and studies covering various aspects of security, from the perspective of sociology, political science, management, law or security science, may appear in the pages of the journal. We are also looking forward to empirical studies, resulting from our own research or critical analysis of found data.
The problem of the identity of security sciences is an important problem, and invariably evokes cognitive intellectual and emotional engagements among representatives of various academics. This diversity of opinions, views and beliefs is, in our view, an opportunity to gain knowledge of the ontology of security postulated by Piotr Sienkiewicz, as well as to concretize and improve the praxiology of its formation with an indication of possible directions for the study of this phenomenon from the point of view of various scientific disciplines. By the same token, we hope that SnB will also become a kind of prolegomenon to an intellectual debate on the state of contemporary theory and methodology of security sciences, a debate in which not only academics, but also doctoral students and students of various academic centers will participate.
Finally, it only remains for me to thank the Committees: Editorial and Scientific Committees and, in a special way, Madam Secretary, for preparing the first edition of SnB. A word of thanks also goes to all the Authors of the papers, Reviewers and all those who contributed in any way to its creation.

From the Editor
We are handing over to the readers the scientific journal of the National Security Institute "The study od Security" (SnB) published in the form of scientific notebooks by the Scientific Publishing House of the Pomeranian Academy in Slupsk.
"The study of Security" is a collection of scientific publications containing original research results in the field of security sciences, and the authors of the publications are both experienced scientists from various scientific backgrounds at home and abroad, as well as young people just entering the world of science.
The journal's topics are devoted to national and international security in such areas as social determinants of security, security theory, external and internal security, security engineering and security education.
In the journal „The study of Security” our readers will find both empirical research and theoretical considerations. Such a wide range of issues demonstrates the importance of the subject of security in its broadest sense in the modern world. This diversity of issues raised in the field of security, gives the Reader the opportunity to analyze the work of scientists, and can also inspire their own thoughts and new creative studies.
In Volume 1 of the journal, you will find articles on health security, information security, personal security, as well as international security.
We cordially invite you not only to reach out and learn about a wide range of security topics, but also to make an effort to prepare scientific publications and collaborate with our open access journal.
